A bedside crib attaches to (or sits right beside) your bed, keeping baby within arm’s reach for night feeds without you fully getting up — genuinely useful in the exhausting early months, especially for breastfeeding.
The catch is the short usable window: most bedside cribs are only rated to around 6 months or a specific weight, so you’ll transition to a full cot or cot bed reasonably soon regardless.
If budget is tight, a full-size cot with the mattress set at its highest position for the newborn stage can serve a similar reach-in purpose, just without the same proximity as a true bedside crib.
